about the founder
I am simply Filippo, a filmmaker and photographer with over twenty years of experience. Together with a team of skilled and dynamic professionals in the field, I love telling stories, with a particular focus on precision and emotions. To do this, we have always relied on the video camera and the camera. Or rather, not exactly always, because when we started, the “camera” was an “exclusive” tool.
I had to use the old family Olympus Reflex, a cassette recorder, and a camcorder that my uncle lent me when I was a teenager… After a few years, I also began editing, with video tapes and two VCRs, and taking many, many shots.
Like many other people, digital technology changed my life. So, in 2004, I had the audacity to make a feature film with a simple camcorder and two studio lights. A few years later, I founded GPG FILM, the first non-profit film production company. For some years now, all my experience has been directed towards creating FILIPPO GRILLI FILMMAKER… In total, I have produced 5 feature films, 3 docufilms, 2 short films, and over 500 videos, including music videos, institutional videos, commercials, events, weddings, and collaborations with schools… But after so many years, I’m still convinced of one thing: that cinema, photography, and filmmaking are just tools for storytelling and evoking emotions. And why not? Making the world a better place.
